Location
Camp JCC is located on the Schultz Campus for Jewish Life, 750 White Pond Drive, Akron, OH 44320.

Ages
Campers are grouped by age (entering grades 1-9 in fall of 2019). Our weekly-themed Traditional Camps Groups are:

• 1st Grade: Camp Shalom (Peace) 
• 2nd Grade: Camp Giborim (Heroes)
• 3rd & 4th Grade: Camp Sababa (Cool) 
• 4th & 5th Grades: Camp Yesh (Got It)
• 6th–8th Grades: Camp Masada (Fort)
• 9th–11th Grades: LIT (Leader-In-Training)

For Specialty Camps, see camp descriptions for the grade levels. The Summer Playhouse option is available for infants through rising kindergarteners at the Mandel Early Childhood Education Center. 

Dates & Times
Camp is available on a flexible, week-by-week basis, June 3- Aug. 16, 2019. Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m. and pick-up is 3:35 p.m. with extended hours available 7-8:45 a.m. (includes breakfast) and 3:30-6 p.m.

Lunches & Snacks
We provide a morning and afternoon snack each day. All snacks are kosher and nut-free.  On all Fridays, we include a lunch for all campers. On Monday through Thursday, please pack your camper with a non-meat lunch.

Our Staff
One of the most important parts of camp is our very talented and dedicated camp staff. Camp staff are carefully selected for their skills, experience and interest in working with children. Camp staff bring creativity and enthusiasm to camp every day. Specialists are all experienced and talented in their fields.

Camp JCC Specialty Camps are all led by specialists or professionals, along with Camp JCC staff assistance. We also bring in Shlichim (Israeli emissaries) who provide programs about culture and Israel. Camp JCC staff complete a comprehensive training program prior to summer camp as well as continued training throughout the camp season to ensure that all campers are provided with the highest quality of safety, programming and care.

Swimming at Camp
Stay cool in the pool! At Camp JCC, swimming is extra special. All lifeguards are American Red Cross certified, and our counselors swim with campers. Traditional and Specialty Campers* swim daily in the Shaw JCC indoor and outdoor pools. Please bring a bathing suit, towel and bag for wet items!
