Pop/Rock Song Writing Camp

Grades 4-9     |     Week 5:  July 1-5 (no camp on July 4)

Songwriting is a wonderful art form that combines multiple disciplines of music into a cohesive concept. Students may bring a guitar or ukulele, and a piano will be provided. Campers will learn what makes a song work, from chord structure to lyrics and melodies. We will dissect popular radio hit songs, discuss the commonly held rules of modern songwriting, and experiment with writing songs of our own. Campers will have an original composition of their own and a demo recording of their song at end of camp.
